An Open Letter to the former residents of Gouyave and well-wishers from everywhere:

Dear Friends in Christ:

          The Parochial Church Council  of the St. John’s Anglican Church appeal to all of you for financial assistance, to enable us to restore the Church building.

          The hurricanes of  2004 and 2005 devastated the  church buildings in Gouyave , the sister parishes at  Mt. Granby, Black Bay and Victoria, as well as the  Rectory and Pastoral Centre.

          To date we have  restored several buildings, and work is to begin at St. Mark’s (Victoria)  in the first week of February.

          We now need funds to do what will undoubtedly be the costliest restoration; namely, the church in Gouyave which require at a minimum:

          a)  A new roof;

          b)  Restoration of the steeple and belfry;

          c)   Replacement of most of the windows, including several  of         stained  glass.;

                d) Replacement of pews which are beyond repair and re-varnishing of those that are                 badly water-stained.

          e) Painting of the  entire interior, and the exterior trim

          g) Tiling of concrete floor

          We would be grateful for your assistance and pray that your contribution comes before God as a special offering and find acceptance in his sight.
