Comedian extraordinaire

Comedian, Lucian Small, known in the entertainment world, as 'Saluche' is dead. On Sunday morning, 58-year-old small was discovered by his brothers, Lloyd and Julian small, in the living room, next to his favourite chair

Small's wife, Helen, was out in the countryside visiting her father who is sick, when her husband's body was found.

Born May 7th, 1948, Lucien Small, the Vincentian born comedian, admits that he was born to be a comedian claiming his stupidity (comedic performances) started in school as a youngster and worked its way to an exclusive nightclub called the Attica' owned by Mr. Ken Boyea. Saluche gained national attention as a stand-up comedian in the 80's, when he first appeared as the MC for the Graduates Calypso Tent.

"I was first called by my peers at school Sir Lucien, then changed to Sir Luce. As I grew up and went to secondary school that name changed to Sir Luche, my sister and mother referred to me as sah.

I then started to correspond with friends and signed my alias as sah luche. Later I dropped the H and joined both words together and became Saluche. "

Small is survived by his loving wife Helen and two daughters Sharese and Lucia, his mother and siblings, many relatives and friends in St. Vincents and internationally

He has worked at the Apollo Theatre in New York, Montreal, Toronto, Washington, Boston, Philadelphia, St. Thomas, St. Marten, St. Kitts, Nevis, Antigua, Barbados, St. Lucia, Grenada, Dominica, and St. Croix.
